This is an early, gouged and oil painted on found hard maple panel by noted Canadian "outsider" artist Philip Melvin. Circa 1970. Go to folkartcanada.ca in the western provinces section for bio. On one side is the above illustrated Mountie with a couple of dubious looking characters drinking, on the other side is Chief Black Foot, Crowfoot Indian Leader, 1870.
