Billy Hull was a lucky boy, and most certainly delighted to receive this hand made Merry go round as a gift from his father, also named William. It was made in the 1940's in the Niagara peninsula. I think it looks like he may have started with a chicken feeder, and added the lead toy soldiers and then cut out and fabricated the seats of tin. In one of the attached photos below you can see the wheel housing below which would have housed a belt running to an external motor. All original, and no restoration. 19" diameter, 27" tall.
