Signed, circa 1960, carved and painted plaque of the profile of a man's head by Gilbert Desrochiers. Gilbert lived very simply on his own, on the family "farm" near Midland Ontario, and after seeing angels began to create beautifully formed carvings of animals, religious figures, etc. He is a well documented Ontario folk artist.
