This is a fine work by Waterloo, Ontario region's most noted Mennonite folk artist, Jacob Roth (1896-1995). He began at age 82 to produced works that chronicled familiar events in the life of the Mennonite community where he grew up and lived, and the experiences he retained in his memory. If you would like to see a full biography, go to http://www.lighthouse.ca/roth.html. This piece is 25 1/2" long, 8" wide, and 13" tall. You can see in photo #6 below that the unbleached cotton which covers the wagon has picked up some age spots on one side. I would think that it would be quite easy to have these bleached out but I wouldn't bother. Otherwise it is in great shape.
