The Bouchard family is legendary in the area of Quebec folk art. Living in Baie St. Paul, the brothers carved, and the three sisters painted. Edith, Simone-Mary, and Marie Cecile were discovered by the Dominion Gallery of Montreal, and given shows since the early 50's. There work is in several important galleries and collections, and they are well documented. Undated but probably from the late 50's or early 60's this piece is oil on canvas. Signed on the front and back. Image size 18"x21 1/2". Framed dimension is 23" x 26 1/2".
