The Bouchard family is legendary in the area of Quebec folk art. Living in Baie St. Paul, the brothers carved, and the three sisters painted. Edith, Simone-Mary, and Marie Cecile were discovered by the Dominion Gallery of Montreal, and given shows since the early 50's. There work is in several important galleries and collections, and they are well documented. This painting by Edith has the Dominion Gallery stamps on the back and is in excellent condition. See attached photo for shot of label. In the original frame. The piece is not dated, but seems later, perhaps from the 60's. Oil on board. Image size 16" x 20". Framed it measures 23 1/2" X 27 1/2".
