This dove-tailed pine storage box from the Niagara peninsula is notable for it's excellent, untouched original paint. Circa 1860. In the attached photos you can see how one handle is missing from the back plate on the left side. Also, a chip is out under the left hinge. Also some slight opening of the dovetail joints along the top. Untouched. All minor wear in comparison to the excellent paint. 25 3/4"w, 13"d, 13"t.
